Tropical Severe Cyclonic Storm Tauktae Update

Tauktae Track Update:

Cyclone Tauktae Update : IMD & JTWC still maintains that Tauktae Cyclone is moving towards Gujarat but in past 3 hours I observed some erratic behavior that no model has taken in their forecast. In last 3 hours Tauktae has moved South & than eastwards by around 50km. It’s location at 2355 15May2021 is in image.

Though models are now converging on its possible landfall area near western Gujarat but its Path is changing constantly. The more time it takes in sea, the more changes in related dynamics (Shear, Ridge, STJ etc) might occur.

So, until and unless we stay inside the “Cone of Uncertainty” of JTWC & IMD forecasted path, it’s important to keep a close watch on its movement for any potential impacts to our coastlines (even minimum) due to any last minute change in it’s path

Latest update about cyclone in Arabian Sea. Tropical Severe Cyclonic Storm Tauktae Update which cyclonic storm has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm and has been tracked towards Northwestward at the speed of 18 kilometre per hour currently on 15 May 2021 at 10 p.m

Its distance to Karachi is 13 10 kilometre and it is situated south west of Karachi as of now maximum sustained winds around the system at the centre are 100 to 120 km for and gusting up to 140 kilometre per hour this system is expected to Unse intensifier for the into a very severe cyclonic storm during next 18 to 24 hours and it will move north west direction and it will reach Indian Gujarat by 18th my afternoon.

Rain Expected In Sindh & Gujarat

Based on current Meteorological conditions thunderstorm with heavy Rainfall and Winds up to 60 for expected in Thatta sajawal Mirpur umarkot Sanghar during 17 to 20 may. Rain expected in Karachi Hyderabad jamshoro Shaheed benazirabad during 18 to 23 conditions will be rough and fishermen are not advised to go into the sea on 16 to 21
